How this is calculated

The OECD publishes, for each member country, the income tax, employee social contributions and cash benefits of a household at every 1% of the national average wage from 50% to 250%. The calculator reads the OECD result at the two published points either side of your salary and interpolates across that 1% step; it does not model the tax system itself, and a salary outside the published range is reported as outside it. Employer contributions, tax credits beyond the standard ones and local surcharges not in the OECD model are not included. Euro amounts use the ECB monthly average named with the result.
