Physician is a regulated profession in Iceland.
- Recognition route
- Doctor in Basic medicine and General medical practice. Doctor in basic and specialised medicine both listed in Annex V. Doctor in Basic Medicine. The Directorate of Health grants protected title/practice licences to the listed health professions. For foreign qualifications, the route differs by applicant/qualification origin; EEA/Swiss recognition documents and non-EEA education assessment are not interchangeable. EEA/Swiss and third-country routes request different documents. Applicants from outside the EEA/Switzerland submit degree, current professional licence, good-standing evidence and study records; evaluation may require an adaptation period or aptitude test.
