The current Services Australia FTB Part A rate page gives a base rate of AUD 75.60 for each child per fortnight and maximum rates of AUD 235.48 per child aged 0–12 and AUD 306.46 per child aged 13–15 or 16–19 meeting the study requirements. The 2026–27 FTB Part A supplement is up to AUD 970.90 per eligible child annually; the payable amount depends on income, care and family circumstances.

The current Services Australia residence-rules page states: ‘On the day you claim, you and your child must be living in Australia. You must also have one of the following: Australian citizenship; a permanent visa; a Special Category visa; or a certain temporary visa, that is a partner provisional or temporary protection type visa.’ It separately states: ‘You can also claim if you’re a subclass 403 visa holder who is part of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme family accompaniment initiative.’ , special_category_visa_holder_in_australia_with_child, partner_provisional_visa_holder_in_australia_with_child, temporary_protection_type_visa_holder_in_australia_with_child and subclass_403_pacific_labour_mobility_family_accompaniment_holder, subject to the child, care, income, immunisation and other Family Tax Benefit conditions; it does not generalize to every Australian resident or temporary visa holder.

The current Services Australia table gives maximum fortnightly amounts from 20 March 2026: AUD 808.70 single no children; AUD 866.00 single with a dependent child; AUD 866.00 single aged 55 or more after 9 months; AUD 866.00 partial capacity to work under 15 hours; AUD 740.30 partnered; and AUD 1,047.30 single principal carer meeting the exception. The payable amount varies with the claimant’s category and income/assets circumstances.

The current Services Australia residence-rules page states: ‘You may be able to get JobSeeker Payment for a single period up to 6 months if both of the following apply: you hold a non-protected Special Category visa; you have lived in Australia for at least 10 years with no break in your residence, right before you claim.’ it does not generalize to every Australian resident or temporary visa holder. The claimant must also meet the current age, unemployment or temporary-incapacity, income/assets and other JobSeeker conditions.

Rent Assistance — Housing support

Services Australia states that for every AUD 1 of rent above the minimum amount, Rent Assistance pays 75 cents, subject to a maximum. The current table gives maximum fortnightly payments of AUD 219.40 single, AUD 146.27 single sharer, AUD 206.80 combined couple and AUD 257.88–291.48 for listed Family Tax Benefit child categories; rates are updated on 20 March and 20 September each year.

The current Services Australia Special Benefit page states that Special Benefit may be available to a person holding an approved temporary visa who is in financial hardship and cannot obtain another income-support payment, subject to the income/assets and residence rules. The current Rent Assistance eligibility page lists Special Benefit as an eligible payment and states that Rent Assistance requires eligible rent or accommodation costs above the minimum. it does not generalize to every Australian resident or every renter.

Services Australia states that Special Benefit may be available to a person holding an approved temporary visa who is in financial hardship and cannot obtain another income-support payment, subject to the income/assets and residence rules.

The current Special Benefit formula depends on circumstances and is usually the same as JobSeeker Payment or Youth Allowance; for every AUD 1 of gross income, the payment reduces by AUD 1, and no single fixed amount is published. Current-state locator checked 2026-08-11.

The current Department of Home Affairs page describes SRSS as needs-based support. The official SRSS application material lists possible accommodation, physical and mental health care, financial assistance and other support mechanisms; the applicable support varies with the individual needs assessment and the retained official sources do not publish one national fixed AUD rate.

The current Australian Department of Home Affairs page states that the Status Resolution Support Service program provides needs-based support to eligible non-citizens who are unable to support themselves, can demonstrate hardship and are engaged with us to resolve their immigration status. it does not broaden the route to every asylum seeker, visa holder or foreign resident.
